“Selamat Ari Gawai, Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai.”
It means “Happy Gawai, may everyone be healthy and live a long life.”
Yes, Sarawak is going to have a long Gawai break starting tomorrow (1st June) till 4th June.
Sibu has been crowded since last weekend when the Gawai Dayak “balik Kampung” started picking up.
It was not only the Dayaks who are caught up in this rush. There are non-Dayaks who took the opportunity of the long festive holidays to go back home or celebrating the festival with Dayak friends, or just leave the town for a break.
I shall be leaving today for a short "kit-kat" break - packaged in the "kit-kat" are an Anniversary Celebrations, a Retreat and an Annual General Meeting in KL. It's Girls' Brigade matters.
It means I would miss the visit to Gaing's longhouse this year! Sigh, sigh!

Just back from a kit-kat break! sure "kit-kat" enough. Was like in a spiritual tent - protected and secured - for the past three days and two nights!
Much refreshed - though, a lot of catch-up to do in church, GB and work too!

It's a small town here and also due to nature of my work - a bit more media exposure for me. I do not like it - but, it's rice bowl lah. Ha, ha.
