No drugs.
Don't smoke. Don't drink.
The family is always there for you, no matter what.
Yes, the engineer's instructions are always short and precise! Those are words from a father to a daughter who has been given wings to fly.
I remember Rachel commenting, "Arrgh... Daddy is so horrible. But that should make me terrified and remember always."
Horrified or terrified, I know children are awed by a father's heart. What does a father's heart look like?
A father's heart has a humility that seeks to lead as a servant.
Some hard words - but it ends with something gentle.
A father's heart has an affection that communicates unconditional love.
What a tremendous blessing a father can give to a child - words which are worth remembering!
Thanks for being that father to Rachel and Chris. Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday Rachel's and Chris' dad!!
Yan, I am salivating at your bowl of mee suah! What do you put in there that makes the broth look so rich? Rice wine?
oh.. and happy birthday to my dad too!!! :)
Happy Birthday to your darling!!! Wishing him lots and lots of happiness in the year ahead. Ya...I would give the same advice to my daughter PLUS pray often and always. Family is always here but God is always there...
Many happy returns to the wise dad!!
Hey Happy Belated Birthday to your hubby :D
Yes, never easy to be a Father but I know they all meant well :D
It is always good to wish the Father a good birthday.
The Good Father is hard to come by these days. He is definitely a blessing not only to the family but to the society. He too has come a long long way from being a child himself to being a teenager and then to being an older man!!
Cherish!
Happy birthday to PL.... wah, also so many candles already?
Hi Yan happy birthday to your dad. Good man.
As for my father...He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.
Have a nice day, Lee.
Hi, dear all,
Thank you for your birthday wishes to my hubby. A little slow in saying thank-you - but considering I have travelled from Central (Sibu) to South (Kuching) and North (Kota Kinabalu)and onwards to the West - you will pardon my slow response.
JoMel, fried the chicken in sesame oil and ginger then add in rice wine and let it simmer for a while, only then you boil the soup. I like my chicken soup to be like those I had during confinement. He..he.. I don't double boil.
Suituapui, you are one wise father - and I feel that it's quite short in supply these days. Oop.. fathers reading here, my apologies. May all parents continue to draw wisdom from above, our Father above who is the greatest father of all.
SAHM,thank you for the good words and kind thoughts.
Shionge, yes, even when my feet trembled when I saw my own late father, I knew he loved us, each of his nine children.
sarawakiana, was Philip your student before? See how "little" we communicated, I mean Philip and I, I had not even asked whether you were his teacher before! He..he.. probably when both of us sit on rocking chairs, then, we shall listen to stories more.
Philip, yes, five big candles plus one small one! How time flies!
Lee, thanks from my hubby for the birthday wishes! You sure have a great father - living by example.
My belated b'day wishes to your wonderful husband and wise father to Rach and Chris! Blessings to him and all of you, rich like your yummy chix soup =) It was also a must-have on our birthdays growing up on my side of the family... These days I sometimes also just cook it for an all-in-one simple soupy meal!
And Yan, I "see" you have been keeping really busy schedules with the travelling here and there! Take care, and hope you can unwind some this weekend =).
bp,
Thank you for visiting and always, always leaving a comment. God's blessings to you and all.
Yes, a little busy, but manageable. Today, I am heading West (KL) over the weekend for Girls' Brigade matters :)
But I am certainly looking forward to a trip to HK with hubby, if I can fit into his schedule. That's he works, while I relax.
P.S. TWO eggs!!! Oh dear! Don't let him eat so many! TWO a week, to the most... Unfortunately, have to tell myself that too!!! Hahahahahaha!!!
suituapui,
It's our family tradition for birthday person to take two eggs!
Hubby has no cholesterol problem, while I have! My doctor "consoled" me that it's not totally on food alone! And being a very egg person, I deliberately forget about the number I take every week. or more often is - I lost count lah!
A belated birthday wish to him too.
Bengbeng,
Thanks. Nice meeting you in church yesterday! Hope you find very at home at Wesley. Should be, with DC with you. I have not enjoyed the choir presentation for a while - thinking whether I should switch from morning to evening service!
