Happiness is.....

Feeling Blue? Well, there is where you should move - Adelaide or South Australia - Australian newspaper, the regional "The Advertiser" reported.

The happiest people in Australia live in South Australia. On State/Territory comparison, SA lead the Australian Unity Wellbeing Index released on 29th January 2009!

Among 180 regions on the Index, South Australia's South-East and Kangaroo Island, both bordering the sea, are at number two and three on the happiest scale.

Survey shows money, or household income has no relationship to happiness stakes.

Lifestyle, community links and safe environment in SA are great place to raise children.

Prof Bob Cummins, from Deakin University, the author of the Index, says for people to feel happiest they need to live in regional areas with a relatively small population, be married and enjoy strong community connections!

Leaving this with you -

The art of Being Well
– by Dr. Dráuzio Varella

If you don’t want to be ill, …

SPEAK YOUR FEELINGS.

Emotions and feelings that are hidden, repressed, end in illness as:
gastritis, ulcer, lumbar pains, spinal.
With time, the repression of feelings degenerates to cancer.
Then, we go to a confidante to share our intimacy, our secret, our errors!
The dialogue, the speech, the word is a powerful remedy and excellent therapy!

If you don’t want to be ill, …

MAKE DECISIONS.

The undecided person remains in doubt, in anxiety, in anguish.
Indecision accumulates problems,
worries and aggressions. Human history is made of decisions.
To decide is precisely to know to renounce,
to know how to lose some advantages and values, but then to win others.
The undecided people are victims
of gastric ailments, nervous pains and problems of the skin.

If you don’t want to be ill, …

FIND SOLUTIONS.

Negative people do not find solutions, they enlarge problems.
They prefer lamentation, gossip, pessimism.
It is better to light a match than to regret the darkness.
A bee is small, but produces one of the sweetest things that exist.
We are what we think.
The negative thought generates negative energy that transforms into illness.

If you don’t want to be ill, …

DON’T LIVE BY APPEARANCES.

One who hides reality pretends, poses, and always wants to give the impression of being well.
He wants to be seen as perfect, easy–going, etc. but is accumulating tons of weight.
A bronze statue with feet of clay.
There is nothing worse for health than to live on appearances and façades.
These are people with a lot of varnish and little root.
Their destiny is the pharmacy, the hospital and pain.

If you don’t want to be ill, …

ACCEPT.

The refusal of acceptance and the absence of self–esteem makes us alienate ourselves.
Being at one with ourselves is the core of healthy life.
They who do not accept this become envious, jealous, become imitators, become ultra–competitive and destructive. Be accepted, accept that you are aacepted, accept the criticisms.
It is wisdom, good sense and good therapy.

If you don’t want to be ill, …

TRUST.

He who does not trust does not communicate, is not opened, is not related and does not create deep and stable relations, does not know how to create true friendships.
Without confidence, there is no relationship. Distrust is a lack of faith in you and in faith itself.

If you don’t want to be ill, …

DO NOT LIVE LIFE SAD.

Good humor, Laughter. Rest. Happiness. These things replenish Health and bring long life.
The happy person has the gift to improve the environment wherever they live.
‘Good humor saves us from the hands of the doctor!’

Hi Yan, love your pics here.
Long time ago I did think of living in Australia.
But guess it was 'the call of the wild' that led us to Canada.
Besides close to US for sightseeing trips.
Love your 'Art of well being'. How true it is.
You have a pleasant week, best regards, Lee.

Lee,

Thanks for the compliments. I have only been to Vancouver. That was 23 years ago. At that time, I thought, this would be a good place for retirement.

Now with daughter in Australia, home seems to be both Sibu and Adelaide! Australian news is now home news to me! How small is the world.

Very good advice, everyone should take note. Adelaide sounds like Sibu - small, closely-knit community...

suituapui,

Sibu is - small, closely-knit community - I agree with you. But, just a little bit too gossipy, probably :(

Hiya Yan...browsing through your previous posts and what a nice reminder for me too :)

I am by nature a happy person but sometimes just find it out to express my thoughts to my significant half and I am still working on my communication skill with him. With others, it is just like a snap of finger.

Anyway, a pleasure to know you :D
