Day 4 - Made to last forever

This life is not all there is ….. Chapter 4 begins…

When I was a young girl, I was fascinated by H.G. Well’s Time Machine. I was captivated by the idea of travelling in time. If you remember the story, or if you don’t, join me -

A scientist builds a time machine. He travels into the future. He then returns and tells his friends what the world is like in 800,000 years from then.

I thought, then, as a young dreaming girl, how would I be like in 10 years’ time? How I wish I could have a time machine too just to have glimpse of my life in ten years’ time.

At other times, I thought, if I had a time machine, I would like to travel back to my childhood days.

Still at other times, I wish time came to a standstill at the moments of truth and beauty.

The truth is - we are all time travellers. We are all travelling through TIME.
And at the end of the journey though time is a destination called - ETERNITY.

Everything in Scripture points to eternity. God “has set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (Eccl. 3:11)

God designed us to live in eternity. His works in this life continues.

My mum has travelled through time and is now in the destination called eternity. The watch in the picture above is something I hold tightly on to remember the times I had with my mother.

God has designed my time on earth - its pressures, its problems, its beauty, its tears, its joys… It’s all beautiful in His Time. God is also whetting my appetites and stimulating my anticipation by telling me that Eternity is a more breathtaking experience to come! And that has become my reason to push on, to face the trials and pressures of the present time.

Hugs for you, Yan... you have so much on your plate, and I love how you always always put God in the centre of everything!

May His joy always be your strength, especially when the pressures are mounting. And besides God, remember also He's brought friends and blogger "kakis" like me to share life's journey =)
